Hansjörg Mayer and Peter Schmidt were collegues at Watford School of Art. He published many of Peter's early book works such as "Rot-A-Prints" and "Electrostatic Portraits" on his imprint Editions Hansjörg Mayer. Peter had a one man show at Galeri Hansjörg Mayer in Stuttgart, Germany in 1967. The printing of the four Schmidt prints that accompanied the initial pressing of Brian Eno's LP "Before and After Science" was done under Hansjörg's supervision. Editions Hansjörg Mayer is recognized as one of the premier publishers of art books in the world. He has published books with Tom Phillips, Richard Hamilton, John Furnival and Deiter Roth among many.
